How to do BRICK BAT COBA
PREPARATORY WORK
- Plaster of parapet, Mumty
machine room, Water tank, Expansion joint treatment at terrace level must
be completed before start of water proofing
- Scaffolding or left out
material should be removed
- Any debris or deposit on
the surface should be removed.
- The surface must be
thoroughly cleaned and free from dust, dirt loose materials, oil or
grease.
- Level should be marked on
parapet minimum 600 above terrace
- All rain water pipe is to
be fixed
- Ridge line to be marked
PROCEDURE
OR METHODOLOGY:
- Convex gola of 1:2:4cement concrete
with water proofing compound shall be prepared along parapet, mumty and
shaft wall.
- Uniform layer of1:2cement
slurry with water proofing compound shall be applied on terrace.
- Uniform layer of 20mm thick
1:4 cement mortar is to be laid.
- Brick bats shall be laid as
per level on edge with 12mm gap all around.
- Allow brick bats in cement
mortar to set for 3 days and curing to be carried out for same period.
- After three days, 1:4 cement mortar
shall be filled in 12 mm gaps.
- 20mm 1:4 cement mortar is to
be spread over the brick bat
- Concave gola is to be made
all along the parapet up to 300 mm
- After 12 hrs mason thread impression
to be marked over finish surface at interval of 300 mm both ways
- Prepare khurra at RWP
location
Inspection
- Slab should be moist before
application of cement slurry
- Level should be marked all
around before the start of work
- Impression shall be dark
deep enough
- Ponding
shall be carried out for 7 days for testing.
